Artist Statement

I have been exhibiting and selling my paintings in solo and group exhibitions since 2004. At present I'm working on a series of war related paintings, and have recently donated one piece to the Pennfield Parish Military Historical Society, of which I'm the Marketing Director. I work in expressionism style, at times abstract, on canvas, paper, wood surfaces and use oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen & ink, mixed media, collage and charcoal. I have an interest in photography as well, using the digital camera, and have been producing many self images over the past year. The use of clay to make small human figurative sculptures has recently been added to my list of favorite mediums. My preferred subjects are human figurative, including nudes, still life and nature. In the summer of 2008 on a trip to Ottawa to visit the National Art Gallery, (and the War Museum) I had the pleasure of viewing the masterpieces of Picasso, Van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Klimt, Degas and Matisse. I have completed many commissions over the years and have won awards for my work in juried competitions. My artwork may be found internationally and is represented at the Gillmor's Coach House Gallery, St. George, New Brunswick.
